Expert Subtitle Translator, QC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Deliver freelance translation of subtitles from English to German, ensuring quality control for television and film content.

• Assist in localization initiatives spanning film, television, streaming services, gaming, and other entertainment mediums.

• Utilize expertise in subtitle and dubbing translation to accurately and appropriately adapt content.

• Tackle challenges related to closed captioning, subtitling, and technical quality.

• Collaborate within the global localization network of Keywords Studios.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess native fluency in the target language.

• In-depth knowledge of the source language is essential.

• A university degree or equivalent professional experience in the field of translation is required.

• Experience in at least one of the following areas: localization quality control, audiovisual translation, or subtitling.

• A thorough understanding of the subtleties involved in subtitle and dubbing translations.

• Familiarity with cultural differences and best practices for creating subtitles and dub audio.

• Knowledge of closed captioning and subtitling, including common pitfalls and technical challenges.

• Proficiency and experience with subtitle editing software and web/cloud technologies.

• Ability to swiftly adapt to changes and updates in workflow and processes.

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and multitasking capabilities.
