Exhibition Floor Plan Designer – Contractor/Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Saudi Arabia.

📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive exhibition floor plans utilizing AutoCAD, EXPOCAD, or comparable CAD software.

• Design layouts for booths, aisle arrangements, and traffic patterns to enhance sellable space and improve the visitor experience.

• Generate multiple iterations of plans based on venue specifications and client needs.

• Ensure adherence to venue regulations, fire codes, and safety standards.

• Collaborate with Sales, Sales Operations, Operations, venue management, Event Managers, Project Management, Marketing, ISP, CRM, Admin, and Customer Service teams.

• Provide current plans, booth availability, and space options to facilitate client negotiations.

• Create visually appealing floor plan presentations for print materials and marketing collateral.

• Maintain calculations for sellable space, gross and net floor area, and occupancy figures.

• Prepare comparative reports on venues detailing floor area and technical specifications.

• Produce technical drawings featuring precise measurements and specifications.

• Assemble documentation packages for Operations, contractors, and venue authorities.

• Oversee multiple floor plan projects while adhering to tight deadlines.

• Monitor revisions, uphold version control, and organize digital files for team access.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar position, showcasing proven exhibition floor planning abilities.

• Degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field, or 2–4 years of equivalent professional experience.

• Proficient in AutoCAD with experience in managing large-scale trade show floor plans.

• Solid understanding of booth layouts, numbering systems, and space optimization techniques.

• Practical experience with EXPOCAD or similar software for layout automation, booth split/combine requests, and spatial datasets.

• Technical knowledge of exhibition venues, especially in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

• Strong understanding of scale, measurements, and spatial relationships.

• Awareness of building codes, accessibility requirements, venue safety regulations, and fire codes.

• Portfolio showcasing floor plan design and technical drawing expertise.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills with sales and operations teams.

• Highly organized, capable of managing frequent plan changes during peak booking periods.

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines consistently.

• Direct experience with exhibition organizers or venue operators in the GCC region is preferred.

• Familiarity with event management software or floor plan booking software is preferred.

• Knowledge of SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator, or 3D rendering tools is a plus.

• Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
