This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Provide strategic and spiritual direction for Greater Europe Mission e.V. across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
• Promote the mission of multiplying disciples, strengthening the church, and mobilizing individuals into ministry.
• Expand GEM’s influence in Germany and Europe while articulating this vision to board members, partners, employees, and stakeholders.
• Build and lead both an executive team and an operational team.
• Represent the NorthCentral/DACH region on the Europe Leadership Team in discussions and decisions concerning GEM workers in Europe.
• Collaborate with GEM International executive leadership to further its mission and vision throughout Europe.
• Develop and sustain the verein membership and board of Greater Europe Mission e.V.
• Establish organizational partnerships with ministries and organizations in Germany and Europe.
• Cultivate an inclusive culture for recruiting and mobilizing workers.
• Keep the GEM Germany e.V. board updated on evolving risks and operational issues.
• Oversee personnel and ministry initiatives in Germany, and currently also in Austria and Switzerland.
• Supervise all operational functions of GEM Germany e.V.
• Build and maintain a network of financial supporters in Germany and Europe.
• Guide, develop, and support the Ministry Director, Chief Operating Officer, Finance Director, and Mobilization Director.
• Maintain and exemplify personal spiritual vitality while engaging in personal discipleship.
• This is an experienced-level position.
• Ability to establish vision, think long-term, and convert mission into actionable strategies.
• Experience in leading organizational growth and aligning boards, staff, and international leadership.
• Strong capability in leading, mentoring, and developing senior-level staff.
• Ability to supervise multiple functional leaders and nurture a healthy, collaborative, and mission-driven culture.
• Skill in building and maintaining donor relationships within a European context.
• Proficient in networking, effectively communicating the vision, and securing financial support.
• A high level of English proficiency is required.
• Increasing use of German in German contexts is necessary.
• Ability to work effectively across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and with global leadership.
• Cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and strong communication skills are essential.
• Ability to partner with the board chair, develop the board, maintain transparency, manage risks, and ensure sound governance within a nonprofit/verein structure.
• Proficient in building relationships with ministries and organizations across Europe.
• Commitment to sustaining personal spiritual vitality and engaging in personal discipleship.
• Flexible working hours.
• Up to 20% travel, including international travel.
• Spiritual retreat day at least once each quarter.
