Estimator – Unitized Curtain Wall

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Prepare and update detailed material takeoffs and quantity surveys under the guidance of senior estimating leadership.

• Examine architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, structural calculations, and engineering documents to define project scope and pricing necessities.

• Assess project schedules, including visual mock-ups, testing requirements, material procurement timelines, and installation sequencing.

• Create thorough estimates for materials, labor, equipment, transportation, taxes, and subcontractor costs.

• Generate precise quantity takeoffs from architectural and structural blueprints.

• Compile material summaries, sketches, and bid documentation essential for estimate preparation.

• Request, review, and evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to project specifications.

• Manage bid-related communications, including the distribution of plans, specifications, and addenda to vendors and subcontractors.

• Develop bid proposals, pricing breakdowns, unit costs, clarifications, inclusions, and exclusions.

• Assist in preparing final bid packages and submissions for clients.

• Engage in scope review meetings and maintain thorough documentation of these meetings.

• Follow up with general contractors and clients regarding bid submissions and feedback on proposals.

• Provide support to senior estimating staff in project pricing, budgeting, and proposal development.

• Utilize Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, Word, and other estimating software tools to prepare precise estimates and reports.

• Ensure all proposal deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least two (2) years of estimating, sales, or preconstruction experience, ideally within the construction industry.

• Strong comprehension of architectural and structural drawings and construction documentation.

• Experience in preparing quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid proposals.

• Proficient in AutoCAD.

• Proficient in Revit.

• Proficient in Bluebeam.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and spreadsheet analysis.

• Knowledgeable about glass door systems.

• Knowledgeable about point-supported glass wall systems.

• Knowledgeable about high-span curtain wall systems.

• Knowledgeable about unitized curtain wall systems.

• Knowledgeable about storefront framing and entrance systems.

• Field construction experience related to unitized curtain wall or glazing installation.

• Familiarity with Kawneer storefront products and systems.

• Experience with PartnerPak estimating software for Kawneer.

• A college degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field is preferred.
