This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Create comprehensive estimates, cost plans, and tenders for electrical projects in the water and wastewater sector.
• Analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, and scope details to determine project requirements.
• Develop costs for labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and specialized suppliers.
• Gather and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Conduct precise take-offs to quantify electrical equipment, materials, and installation needs.
• Identify risks, opportunities, exclusions, and assumptions within tender packages.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, designers, suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams to confirm estimates.
• Work alongside mechanical, civil, process, and construction estimators to create cohesive project estimates.
• Assist with value engineering and seek opportunities to enhance cost, schedule, and constructability.
• Prepare tender submissions, pricing schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure that estimates adhere to company procedures, governance, and commercial standards.
• Take part in tender evaluations and present estimates, assumptions, risks, and opportunities to senior stakeholders.
• Maintain estimating records and participate in post-tender reviews and lessons learned sessions.
• Aid in the development of estimating processes, cost databases, and benchmarking information.
• Foster relationships with clients, delivery partners, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Degree/HND or equivalent qualification in an electrical engineering-related field.
• Relevant professional qualifications or membership in a recognized industry organization.
• Experience in electrical estimating within construction, infrastructure, utilities, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience as an Electrical Estimator.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation techniques, materials, equipment, and associated costs.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, and scopes of work.
• Experience in generating detailed estimates and tender submissions.
• Experienced in acquiring and analyzing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Strong commercial and financial insight.
• Exceptional attention to detail and numerical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software/packages.
• Capacity to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
• Previous experience in the water and wastewater sector.
• Familiarity with AMP programs and UK water industry clients.
• Experience estimating work related to water and wastewater treatment assets, pumping stations, MCCs, control panels, instrumentation, LV systems, and related electrical infrastructure.
• Understanding of NEC contracts and the commercial principles associated with infrastructure projects.
• Relevant electrical qualifications or technical background.
