This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Provide expert advice to clients regarding all facets of estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, medical powers of attorney, and tax strategies.
• Create, review, and modify estate planning documents customized to meet the unique needs of each client.
• Conduct consultations with clients to evaluate their goals, assets, and family dynamics, delivering clear guidance and recommendations.
• Oversee complex estates, including those with business interests, charitable contributions, and multi-generational planning.
• Work collaboratively with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to develop comprehensive estate plans.
• Keep abreast of relevant federal and state legislation affecting estate planning, probate, and tax issues.
• Represent clients in probate courts and assist with the administration of trusts and estates as necessary.
• Build trust and rapport with clients through effective communication, confidentiality, and attentive service.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a recognized law school.
• Current license to practice law in the applicable state and/or a willingness to waive into jurisdictions to accommodate client needs.
• A minimum of five years of specialized experience in estate planning, involving direct client interaction.
• Proven expertise in drafting and executing estate planning documents.
• Strong knowledge of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax regulations.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to manage sensitive issues with discretion and compassion.
• Proficient in legal research and practice management software.
