ERA Exceptions Posting Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Investigate claim payments as detailed in Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA)

• Research and resubmit exceptions by the designated deadline

• Adhere to relevant laws pertaining to billing standards

• Process electronic 835 transactions and manual payer Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)

• Record insurance allowable amounts, patient contributions, denials, adjustments, contractual allowances, recoupments, and forward balancing

• Analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOB) remittance codes and apply the appropriate denial codes

• Reconcile and finalize payment batches promptly

• Navigate online platforms to retrieve EOBs

• Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned

• Deliver exceptional service to Ventra Health clients nationwide within a collaborative team environment

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in posting insurance payments within a healthcare context

• At least two (2) years of experience interpreting insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements is preferred

• Familiarity with different types of insurance payers

• In-depth understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements

• Excellent balancing and reconciliation abilities

• Proficient 10 Key calculator skills

• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication capabilities

• Solid mathematical proficiency

• Effective time management skills

• Strong organizational abilities

• Capability to read, comprehend, and apply relevant state and federal laws, regulations, and policies

• Flexibility to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment

• Aptitude for communicating with diverse personalities in a respectful, mature, and professional manner
