This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Review documentation from emergency room visits to ensure precise and thorough charge capture.
• Analyze documentation to identify any gaps in clinical information.
• Engage with providers for clarification when needed.
• Examine and resolve discrepancies in payments.
• Recognize and implement strategies to achieve appropriate outcomes.
• Organize and conduct audits from third-party entities.
• Provide guidance and updates to management regarding reimbursement matters.
• High School Diploma or GED - Required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Emergency Room coding/charging, Revenue Cycle, or billing - Required.
• At least 4 years of clinical experience in an Emergency Room setting - Required.
• No prior experience is necessary if the candidate possesses an active RHIT, RHIA, or CCS credential.
• Associate's Degree in an Allied Health Profession - Preferred.
• Credentials or candidate status for CCS, RHIT, or RHIA as specified.
• CCS certification preferred upon hire.
• RHIT credential should be obtained within one year of hire - Preferred.
• RHIA credential should be obtained within one year of hire - Preferred.
• Availability for day shifts from Monday to Friday.
• Willingness to travel occasionally or not at all.
