This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho, +1 more state.
• Identify and seek new business opportunities within the designated territory.
• Develop and implement strategies aimed at acquiring new customers and increasing market share.
• Travel daily to customer and prospect locations to establish contacts and assess their needs.
• Determine suitable equipment or service solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Design solutions, select equipment, establish gross margins, and present those solutions.
• Create opportunities through cold calling, lead follow-up, networking, referrals, and diverse sales strategies.
• Maintain a project pipeline to achieve territory and margin goals.
• Keep records of visits, calls, opportunities, and customer equipment in Salesforce CRM.
• Manage existing customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and foster repeat business.
• Cultivate relationships with prospects to secure new business.
• Regularly follow up to understand customer needs and resolve any issues.
• Advise prospects and customers regarding compressed air equipment, systems, and represented products.
• Deliver proposals for equipment, including written documents and formal presentations.
• Negotiate pricing and terms to finalize sales agreements.
• Achieve or surpass equipment sales targets while promoting PM agreements, services, parts, and rentals.
• Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and the competitive landscape.
• Maintain knowledge of compressors, dryers, filters, ancillary equipment, and other Hitachi Air Center products.
• Provide technical support to customers and prospects.
• Ensure accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and proposals.
• Collaborate with sales support, service support, and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in approved trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.
• Follow up post-sale to guarantee high-quality service.
• Provide a three-month monthly forecast for inventory and business planning.
• Adhere to the Hitachi Global Air Power US Code of Ethics, relevant policies, safety regulations, and workplace safety objectives.
• Must reside in Idaho or Northern Nevada; preferred areas include Twin Falls, Boise, or Northern NV.
• Bachelor’s Degree or 2-5 years of relevant experience in industrial outside sales.
• Three or more years of prior sales experience with an industrial sales and service organization or completion of two or more years of college coursework.
• Experience in the compressed air industry is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to receive detailed information in person or over the phone.
• Proficiency in performing routine mathematical calculations and accurately transferring numbers to reports, quotes, and computer entries.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with others while being detail-oriented.
• Capability to identify customer needs, select suitable equipment, and complete sales with professionalism and integrity.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• Competence in reading and understanding pump curves and hydraulics, as well as performing compressor horsepower and capacity calculations.
• Skill in evaluating pump and compressor applications and selecting appropriate equipment, accessories, and services using selection guides and engineering data.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must possess a valid license and be insurable.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively and drive long hours, including out-of-town sales within the specified region.
