Epidemiologist Director

📋 Description

• Provide senior-level scientific and methodological leadership for observational, non-interventional, and real-world evidence studies.

• Offer guidance to clients on strategies for generating evidence that supports clinical development, regulatory submissions, market access, and health technology assessments.

• Oversee the design and management of intricate epidemiologic and real-world evidence research programs.

• Ensure scientific integrity, methodological rigor, and regulatory compliance across all client deliverables.

• Convey complex scientific concepts and research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Lead client interactions and act as a trusted advisor throughout the duration of projects.

• Provide strategic expertise in epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, and real-world evidence across consulting engagements.

• Manage interdisciplinary project teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.

• Offer insights into study design, data strategy, and analytical methodologies.

• Contribute to new business initiatives, proposals, study planning, budgeting, bid defenses, and capability presentations.

• Foster client relationships and enhance Fortrea Consulting’s market presence.

• Enhance the capabilities in epidemiology and real-world evidence through innovation and ongoing improvement.

• Write and contribute to scientific publications, white papers, conference presentations, and thought leadership initiatives.

• Establish best practices for methodological excellence and standards in evidence generation.

• Mentor, coach, and develop epidemiologists and multidisciplinary consulting professionals.

• Support talent development, succession planning, and recruitment efforts.

• Lead project teams while providing performance feedback and professional development guidance.


⛳️ Requirements

• Doctoral-level degree in Epidemiology, Pharmacoepidemiology, Public Health, or a related quantitative health science discipline; equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of educational qualifications.

• Proven scientific leadership and technical expertise in epidemiology as it applies to non-interventional and real-world evidence research.

• Demonstrated success in leading client engagements and managing multidisciplinary project teams.

• Experience in developing and sustaining strong client relationships.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Collaborative leadership style with the capacity to work effectively across different disciplines and global teams.

• At least 10 years of experience in applying epidemiological methods, including substantial non-interventional research experience.

• Doctoral-level candidates with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience will also be considered.

• At least 6 years of experience in leading teams, mentoring staff, and managing complex projects.

• Preferred: PhD, DrPH, PharmD, MD, or equivalent advanced scientific qualification.

• Extensive expertise in real-world evidence, observational research, and applied epidemiology.

• Strong understanding of secondary real-world data sources, including claims, CPRD/NHS, EHR, and registries.

• Experience with external control arms/synthetic controls, natural history studies, and HEOR deliverables.

• Background in supporting evidence generation for regulatory, reimbursement, and health technology assessment purposes.

• Strong skills in business development, consulting, and problem-solving.

• Experience working in multidisciplinary environments that include epidemiology, market access, biostatistics, healthcare analytics, and health economics.

• Ability to influence strategic decision-making and develop innovative solutions for clients.
