This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices across various facilities.
• Collaborate on Health and Safety initiatives throughout Operations sites.
• Assess and audit the EHS management system while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Offer guidance on EHS issues to site personnel.
• Mitigate EHS risks by suggesting modifications to machinery, processes, and workspaces, as well as conducting comprehensive facility-wide Risk Assessments.
• Ensure thorough site reporting mechanisms for EHS statistics.
• Provide management with relevant EHS information and performance metrics.
• Investigate accidents and injuries in compliance with legal requirements.
• Maintain incident records to assist with company liability insurance claims.
• Investigate and interpret the information needed by insurance brokers regarding claims.
• Deliver training for both new and existing employees.
• Keep records of company EHS and MHE-related training.
• Coordinate and accompany onsite inspections by governing bodies.
• Lead onsite EHS meetings for employees, document minutes, and drive action plans to resolve issues.
• Communicate current EHS legislation and updates, and advise site management on necessary actions.
• Develop, implement, and sustain an effective EHS audit program.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Certification as a Safety Professional is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years of prior EHS experience.
• Extensive EHS experience, preferably within a logistics setting.
• Adaptable work approach with the initiative to manage personal priorities and workload.
• Willingness to support activities across three-shift operations when necessary.
• Capable of effectively leading and managing Safety initiatives and employee meetings.
• Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
• Comfortable interacting at all organizational levels within a large company.
• Proven track record of facilitating significant changes in safety culture across operations.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, or lift items weighing up to 15 pounds as required.
