This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Efficiently create playable levels aligned with the vision of the Art Director and the requirements of Level Design.
• Uphold artistic direction and quality standards.
• Design world geometry and composition for levels using Unreal Engine.
• Transform existing assets into new forms.
• Outline modules and levels while developing initial/proxy materials.
• Deliver work within defined specifications and adhere to workflow pipelines while meeting deadlines.
• Model proxy assets.
• Engage in reviews, adapt to feedback, and implement suggestions from leads and colleagues.
• Take part in research and development initiatives to investigate new techniques and enhance pipelines and workflows.
• Collaborate with teams including Concept Art, Character Art, Environment Art, Tech Art, Level Design, and Animation.
• A robust portfolio demonstrating playable levels with generated geometry.
• Proficiency and familiarity with industry-standard 3D modeling software such as Maya, Max, Blender, ZBrush, Photoshop, or their equivalents.
• Capability to artistically interpret concepts or creatively extend beyond initial ideas.
• Evidence of narrative set dressing skills.
• Strong grasp of traditional art skills and foundational design principles, including composition, layout, shape, form, texture, value, and color.
• Experience with Unreal Engine or similar platforms.
• Comprehensive understanding of modular workflows.
• Proficiency in using PBR shaders and normal maps.
• Capacity to accept and integrate feedback.
• Openness to learn and adapt to new styles, techniques, and workflows.
• Ability to collaborate with department leads and across various departments to resolve artistic and technical challenges.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• A minimum of 3 years in AAA console/PC game development, including at least 1 year of experience with Unreal Engine.
• Preferred: traditional art skills and essential graphic design competencies.
• Preferred: experience with Unreal 4/5, environment modeling, and level design.
