
Entry Level Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to facilitate the development of new features and services.
• Create tools for monitoring the stability and performance of the site.
• Ensure the reliability and scalability of infrastructure while adhering to platform Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
• Diagnose site issues utilizing Splunk, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
• Manage and maintain essential datastores, including Cassandra and MySQL.
• Automate infrastructure using Python, Puppet, Git, Jenkins, Terraform, and AI-based tools.
• Create custom tools when standard solutions fail to scale effectively.
• Contribute to open-source projects upstream.
• Engage in light on-call rotations with distributed Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.
• Enable product teams and developers through automation and self-service infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Linux; while Ubuntu is the primary distribution, any variant is acceptable.
• Strong skills in a modern programming language such as Python, Ruby, Go, Java, or C++.
• Familiarity with or interest in MySQL and/or Cassandra.
• Practical experience with public cloud platforms; AWS is utilized, but Azure or GCP are also acceptable.
• Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tools, such as Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible.
• Relevant experience with Linux containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, containerization, workload orchestration, datastores, or streaming technologies.
• Awareness of monitoring principles and best practices concerning performance, reliability, and security.
• Exceptional communication and documentation abilities.
• Willingness to ask questions, take initiative, and engage in continuous learning.
• A basic criminal background check via AccessNI is required for applicants from Northern Ireland.
