Entry Level Background Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough interviews with subjects, employers, colleagues, references, and other knowledgeable parties.

• Examine relevant records to gather essential facts.

• Address all significant issues in cases to determine the subject’s background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications.

• Perform interviews through VTC, phone, and face-to-face meetings, with VTC being the primary method.

• Participate in a multiweek intensive virtual online training program.

• Engage in additional shadowing and mentorship with an experienced Investigator.

• May require traveling across the U.S. for temporary duty assignments, typically lasting two weeks.

• Contribute to national security initiatives as a background investigator.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of 4 years of general experience showcasing progressive responsibility in problem-solving, planning and organizing work, and effective verbal and written communication.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a favorable determination based on a T5 Investigation.

• Strong commitment to supporting national security initiatives.

• Exceptional work ethic, integrity, and a positive, can-do attitude.

• Proficient in navigating and utilizing multiple technology systems simultaneously.

• Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and willingness to travel locally based on assignment location.

• Home office located within a reasonable distance to work areas and equipped with reliable high-speed Internet.

• Ability to sit, type, stand, or walk for extended periods.

• Outstanding time management and prioritization abilities.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Proficient in conveying complex or sensitive information effectively.

• Ability to listen attentively, respond appropriately to nonverbal cues, and deliver clear and persuasive oral presentations.

• Capacity to maintain strong relationships with diverse individuals and manage challenging situations with tact and professionalism.

• Proficient in correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; able to communicate succinctly and in an organized manner.

• Ability to produce written content, including technical material suitable for the intended audience.

• Active Top Secret Clearance based on a T5 (preferred).
