This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee the creation and upkeep of the AS-IS and TO-BE Architecture Models utilizing DoDAF and UAF within the HELM Product Line.
• Construct and sustain the HELM-wide SAFe Architectural Runway, encompassing shared technical foundations, architectural enablers, integration points, and cross-product capabilities.
• Refresh the Architectural Runway on a quarterly basis prior to each PI.
• Develop Solution Architecture Packages that encompass business, systems, application, and data architectures.
• Ensure that solution architectures are in alignment with the VA enterprise strategy, roadmap, and Technical Reference Model.
• Conduct architectural assessments to pinpoint reuse opportunities and guarantee alignment between enterprise and product lines.
• Create and maintain a HELM Architecture Repository that includes design patterns, reusable components, solution templates, and interface patterns.
• Offer technical guidance regarding FHIR, ESB/EAI patterns, API integration, and VA interoperability requirements.
• Assist with DevSecOps maturity assessments and document compliance gaps along with technical readiness.
• Keep logical, network, and dataflow architecture diagrams updated with each release.
• Ensure that ATO compliance is factored into architectural decisions and support the development of A&A artifacts.
• Provide counsel on AWS, Azure, and VAEC/Platform One cloud architecture and migration strategies.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in enterprise architecture within large-scale federal IT programs.
• Proven experience with DoDAF and/or UAF architecture frameworks.
• Proficient in the SAFe Agile framework, including Architectural Runway and PI Planning.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, VAEC) and cloud-native architecture patterns.
• Knowledgeable in FHIR, ESB/EAI integration frameworks, and API engineering.
• Familiarity with VA TRM, NIST SP 800-53 Rev 5, FedRAMP, and VA Directive 6500.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Certified SAFe Architect (ARCH) is preferred.
• Red Hat Certified Engineer in Cloud-Native Applications is preferred.
• AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
• CISSP certification is preferred.
