Enterprise MES Technical Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical subject matter expert for the enterprise Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and its associated technology environment.

• Manage and configure MES workflows, manufacturing plans, bills of material, work instructions, production records, data collection, material traceability, and user access.

• Oversee system configurations, application settings, permissions, interfaces, and other supporting technical components.

• Monitor the health, performance, capacity, logs, jobs, databases, and data integrity of the system, addressing any technical issues as they arise.

• Assist with application patching, upgrades, environment maintenance, backup/recovery processes, and lifecycle management.

• Provide technical leadership during MES implementations, upgrades, configuration changes, testing, deployment, go-live, and hypercare phases.

• Convert functional requirements into technical configurations and implementation strategies.

• Facilitate interfaces and data flows between MES and PLM, ERP, integration middleware, planning, reporting, and engineering systems.

• Coordinate deployment activities across development, testing, staging, and production environments.

• Lead technical efforts for intricate MES incidents, production issues, and problems affecting users.

• Troubleshoot issues related to routings, work instructions, BOMs, production records, data collection, integrations, system performance, and material traceability.

• Conduct root-cause analyses and implement corrective or preventive measures.

• Coordinate resolution efforts among technology teams, business stakeholders, and software vendors.

• Maintain technical documentation, configuration standards, operational procedures, and support knowledge bases.

• Propose technical solutions, standards, and enhancements to the platform.

• Offer technical guidance and mentoring to MES administrators and technical personnel.

• Collaborate with architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, database, and integration teams.

• Identify opportunities to automate administrative tasks, monitoring, deployment, and support activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with 12–15 years of pertinent experience; or a Master's degree with 10–13 years of relevant experience.

• Additional relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree where applicable according to the job profile.

• Extensive experience in administering, configuring, supporting, or implementing complex enterprise applications.

• Proficient in troubleshooting complex application, database, performance, configuration, and integration challenges.

• Experience in supporting enterprise application upgrades, patches, deployments, testing, and production releases.

• Solid understanding of relational databases, SQL, application architecture, and enterprise system integrations.

• Proven experience in conducting root-cause analysis and developing solutions to complex technical issues.

• Demonstrated capability to coordinate technical activities across infrastructure, database, cybersecurity, application, supplier, and business teams.

• Ability to convey complex technical issues, risks, and recommendations to both technical and senior leadership audiences.

• Significant experience in administration, implementation, or technical support of Manufacturing Execution Systems, ideally iBase-t Solumina.

• Familiarity with PTC Windchill PLM, Deltek Costpoint ERP, eQube-MI, or eQube-BI.

• Experience in supporting integrations and transactional data flows among MES, PLM, ERP, planning, and engineering systems.

• Competence with SQL Server, Oracle, SQL development/querying, database troubleshooting, and data analysis.

• Experience in supporting highly available, business-critical manufacturing production environments.

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including routings, work instructions, BOMs, production records, material traceability, and configuration control.

• Familiarity with application performance monitoring, automation, scripting, or system health monitoring.

• Background in supporting aerospace, defense, regulated manufacturing, or other mission-critical environments.
