Enterprise Hardware, Telecom & Reseller Strategic Sourcing Leader

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Lead comprehensive sourcing initiatives across hardware, telecommunications, reseller management, professional services, and designated indirect categories.

• Formulate and implement category strategies that align with enterprise objectives.

• Perform market analysis, supplier evaluations, benchmarking, and sourcing events.

• Spearhead commercial negotiations and pinpoint opportunities for value creation.

• Create category strategies, supplier strategies, multi-year roadmaps, category playbooks, and governance frameworks.

• Oversee supplier segmentation, renewal and refresh visibility, preferred supplier and reseller programs, and category governance strategies.

• Keep track of OEM, distributor, reseller, carrier, connectivity, mobility, support, maintenance, and managed service markets.

• Deliver category intelligence, benchmarking insights, and strategic recommendations.

• Convert enterprise technology, infrastructure, workplace, location, and growth priorities into category-level sourcing and supplier strategies.

• Foster trusted relationships across IT, Network, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Facilities, Finance, Legal, Operations, and other business functions.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to influence specifications, standards, demand plans, supplier selections, commercial strategies, and implementation requirements.

• Assist in supplier lifecycle management, performance management, renewal and refresh planning, and supplier optimization initiatives.

• Formulate and oversee reseller strategies, including manufacturer alignment, channel selection, pricing transparency, discounts, rebates, deal registration, services, support, and escalation paths.

• Negotiate agreements for hardware, telecommunications, mobility, connectivity, maintenance, warranty, support, managed services, implementation, and related professional services.

• Support procurement policies, governance, operational model enhancements, demand and asset lifecycle practices, tools, templates, and sourcing frameworks.

• Analyze data related to spend, suppliers, inventory, assets, usage, circuits, locations, contracts, rates, renewals, refreshes, and categories.

• Create executive-ready presentations, reports, business cases, and recommendations.

• Utilize Excel, Power BI, AI-enabled tools, and procurement technologies to enhance business outcomes.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• 5+ years in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Category Management, Supplier Management, or Supply Chain.

• Proven responsibility for categories related to hardware, telecommunications, resellers, carriers, or managed services.

• Demonstrated success in leading sourcing initiatives and commercial negotiations with manufacturers, resellers, distributors, telecom carriers, connectivity providers, or managed service providers.

• Strong comprehension of hardware lifecycle economics, telecom/connectivity services, reseller and channel models, service levels, warranties, maintenance, and common commercial constructs.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, NetSuite or similar ERP systems, Zip or equivalent procurement workflow platforms, and Jira or similar project management tools.

• Comfortable in independently analyzing data related to spend, inventory, usage, location, rates, suppliers, proposals, contracts, and categories.

• Capable of constructing business cases and executive presentations that translate findings into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

• Ability to excel in fast-paced, high-growth, multi-site, and dynamic environments.

• Nice to have: experience in developing category strategies, playbooks, supplier segmentation models, and sourcing roadmaps for hardware, telecommunications, resellers, or managed services.

• Nice to have: experience negotiating with OEMs, value-added resellers, distributors, telecom carriers, connectivity providers, or managed service providers.

• Nice to have: experience managing technology categories within insurance, financial services, professional services, technology, or other intricate enterprise environments.

• Nice to have: experience supporting procurement transformation initiatives in multi-site, acquisition-driven, or rapidly growing organizations.
