Enterprise GIS Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Provide support, administration, and maintenance for Enterprise GIS environments hosted on AWS.

• Oversee system performance, availability, security, and capacity.

• Carry out regular maintenance, updates, and patching.

• Design and maintain REST APIs, microservices, automation workflows, reports, and Web-GIS applications.

• Enhance the usability, performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing GIS platforms.

• Integrate Enterprise GIS solutions with corporate databases, business applications, and map-enabled systems.

• Assist in the migration and transition of GIS applications, dashboards, services, StoryMaps, and GIS data.

• Ensure compliance of GIS solutions with enterprise architecture, security, engineering, and deployment standards.

• Diagnose production issues, resolve service requests, and provide technical support to users and application owners.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, including Scrum, Kanban, sprint planning, and team meetings.

• Collaborate with GIS specialists, project teams, business stakeholders, and external consultants.

• Act as backup support for the GIS Server Manager and GIS Administrator as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, GIS, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in Enterprise GIS implementation, cloud infrastructure, and Web-GIS application development.

• Practical experience with Enterprise GIS platforms like Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, GeoServer, and GeoNode.

• Familiarity with AWS or Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Windows Server, and Linux.

• Software development experience utilizing REST APIs, microservices, JavaScript, Python, C#, PostgreSQL, and PostGIS.

• Background in production support, deployment, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and patch management.

• Experience in Agile and DevOps settings using Scrum, Kanban, and Azure DevOps methodologies.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Strong ability to collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external consultants.

• Nice-to-have: experience in Financial Services or large enterprise IT environments.

• Nice-to-have: understanding of enterprise software engineering, cybersecurity, information security, and data privacy standards.

• Nice-to-have: experience integrating GIS platforms with corporate databases and business applications.

• Nice-to-have: experience migrating ArcGIS applications, dashboards, StoryMaps, services, and GIS datasets.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with Datadog.

• Nice-to-have: experience utilizing AI tools or AI agents.

• Nice-to-have: professional certifications related to Cloud, GIS, Kubernetes, DevOps, or Information Security.

• Must be available to align with Manila business hours and the client's business calendar and holidays.
