Enterprise Applications Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the modernization and transformation of Paylocity's enterprise Quote-to-Cash ecosystem.

• Define the target-state architecture encompassing product and pricing, Salesforce CPQ, order-to-fulfillment, billing systems, NetSuite ERP, integration platforms, and AI-enabled services.

• Act as the strategic and technical authority for the comprehensive QTC solution design.

• Convert business requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable architectures.

• Refactor the architecture for product, pricing, bundle, and AI monetization.

• Support monetization models based on subscription, usage, and consumption.

• Streamline Quote-to-Cash processes involving sellers, Sales Operations, Deal Desk, and Revenue Operations.

• Remove friction in CPQ processes and minimize manual interactions across quoting, ordering, billing, and revenue operations.

• Establish and publish the enterprise QTC target architecture, capability map, system boundaries, data ownership model, integration strategy, and multi-year roadmap.

• Standardize the architecture for API, event, batch, middleware, canonical data, and observability.

• Promote architecture review coverage for strategic initiatives.

• Design the Order-to-Fulfillment workstream, including orchestration, status tracking, audit, retry, reconciliation, and exception management patterns.

• Foster AI innovation by identifying copilot and agent use cases and defining AI architecture principles, security controls, human-in-the-loop patterns, and observability standards.

• Initiate measurable AI-enabled pilot projects.

• Enhance architecture governance through QTC architecture reviews and decision records.

• Create executive-ready diagrams, process flows, roadmaps, and decision records.

• Implement the QTC transformation strategy, which includes CPQ capability assessment, technical-debt evaluation, platform assessment, and phased migration planning.

• Review requests and deliverables to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance in complete end-to-end solution designs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in enterprise solution architecture.

• At least 5 years of experience with enterprise Quote-to-Cash solutions.

• Extensive knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud.

• In-depth expertise in Salesforce CPQ and/or Revenue Cloud.

• Experience in product, pricing, bundle, and monetization architecture.

• Familiarity with subscription, usage-based, and consumption-based models.

• Experience with NetSuite ERP integration and implementation.

• Practical knowledge of order fulfillment, billing, and revenue operations systems.

• Experience with Boomi or a similar enterprise integration platform.

• Proficiency in API-led, event-driven, and batch integration patterns.

• Leadership experience in large-scale QTC modernization or transformation programs.

• Experience in designing or integrating copilots, AI agents, or intelligent automation into enterprise workflows.

• Knowledge of responsible AI practices, including guardrails, human-in-the-loop patterns, and data governance.

• Excellent skills in whiteboarding, process modeling, executive presentation, and solution storytelling.

• Salesforce CPQ Specialist certification.

• Salesforce Application Architect certification, or equivalent designations such as Data Architect, Sharing and Visibility Architect, Platform Developer I, and Platform App Builder.

• NetSuite SuiteFoundation certification.

• Comprehensive end-to-end Quote-to-Cash architecture experience across CPQ, ERP, and integration layers.

• Availability for five days each week during designated working hours.

• Remote position limited to candidates residing within the U.S.

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods, typically 7–8 hours per day.

• Capability to operate computers and phone systems and type efficiently.

• Preferred: Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA).

• Preferred: Salesforce System Architect certification.

• Preferred: Experience or certification in Salesforce Revenue Cloud.

• Preferred: NetSuite ERP Consultant, NetSuite Administrator, or NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer certification.

• Preferred: Boomi Professional Developer or Architect certification.

• Experience with enterprise AI platforms such as Agentforce or Salesforce Data Cloud.

• Familiarity with evaluating and transitioning legacy CPQ platforms to modern revenue platforms.
