English Instructor – Full-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills, focusing on long-term comprehension and achieving high ACT/SAT scores.

• Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Provide students with personalized growth and enhancement opportunities.

• Organize and revise student lesson schedules regularly.

• Hold students responsible for their assignments.

• Demonstrate professionalism and exceptional organizational skills through prompt communication with students.

• Design and implement innovative lesson plans and curricula.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application journey.

• Availability during operational hours: Tuesday–Thursday, 1:30 pm–9:30 pm CST; Saturday–Sunday, 9:30 am–5:30 pm CST.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., a GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong command of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise/distractions.

• Willingness to work during the specified operational hours.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level is preferred.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to develop engaging and customized lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
