English Instructor, Full-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills for lasting comprehension and high ACT/SAT performance.

• Monitor student progress utilizing Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Engage students in personalized growth and development opportunities.

• Maintain and revise student lesson schedules as needed.

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments.

• Exhibit professionalism and strong organizational abilities through timely communication with students.

• Design and creatively implement dynamic lesson plans and curricula.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application journey.

• Collaborate with educators, counselors, and specialists to enhance student success.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Strong verbal communication skills and proficiency in the English language.

• Competent in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Suite.

• Dependable internet connection and a workspace with minimal distractions.

• Willingness to work during specified operational hours.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level is preferred.

• Solid understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
