English Instructor, FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills to ensure long-term comprehension and high ACT/SAT performance.

• Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Foster individualized growth and improvement opportunities for students.

• Maintain and refresh student lesson schedules as needed.

• Ensure students are held accountable for their assignments.

• Exhibit professionalism and strong organizational abilities through timely communication with students.

• Design and innovatively implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Support middle and high school students as they navigate the increasingly competitive and stressful college application process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities field from accredited US institutions (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• A master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (for example, a GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and proficiency in the English language.

• Familiarity with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Suite.

• Reliable internet access and a workspace that is free from significant noise or distractions.

• Willingness to work during the designated Hours of Operations.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level is preferred.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Ability to craft personalized, engaging lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
