English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mississippi.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills to promote long-term comprehension and achieve high ACT/SAT scores.

• Monitor student progress through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Engage students in personalized growth and enhancement opportunities.

• Organize and update student lesson schedules.

• Hold students accountable for their assignments.

• Exemplify professionalism and strong organizational skills through timely communication with students.

• Develop and creatively implement evolving lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students throughout the college application process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from U.S. institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., 3.5+ GPA).

• Excellent verbal skills and mastery of the English language.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Suite.

• Reliable internet connection and a workspace free from distractions.

• Commitment to work during the specified hours of operation.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level is preferred.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Ability to develop customized and engaging lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.

• Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
