English Instructor – FT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Idaho.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students the essential English skills needed for long-term comprehension and achieving high scores on the ACT and SAT.

• Monitor student progress through Vanguard’s comprehensive multi-phase curriculum.

• Involve students in personalized growth and development opportunities.

• Organize and refresh student lesson schedules as needed.

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments.

• Exemplify professionalism and strong organizational skills through timely communication with students.

• Develop and creatively implement dynamic lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application journey.

• Availability during operating hours: Tuesday–Thursday, 1:30 pm–9:30 pm CST; Saturday–Sunday, 9:30 am–5:30 pm CST.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• A Master's degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., a GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and strong command of the English language.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• A reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal distractions.

• Commitment to working during the specified operational hours.

• Preferred experience in teaching at the college or community college level.

• Strong knowledge of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to develop tailored, engaging lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world examples.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
