English Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students fundamental English skills for ACT and SAT preparation.

• Monitor student progress through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Encourage students to pursue individualized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Organize and update student lesson schedules.

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments.

• Demonstrate professionalism and effective organizational skills through timely communication with students.

• Create and implement dynamic lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students throughout the college application process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from U.S. institutions (e.g., English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., 3.5 GPA or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and command of the English language.

• Competency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• A reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions.

• Dedication to work during specified operational hours.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level is preferred.

• Strong grasp of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to design tailored, engaging lesson plans using practical, real-world examples.

• Ability to function independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
