English Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills to ensure long-term comprehension and achieve high ACT/SAT scores.

• Monitor student progress through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Encourage students to pursue individualized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Organize and update student lesson schedules regularly.

• Hold students accountable for their assignments.

• Exemplify professionalism and strong organizational abilities through timely communication with students.

• Design and creatively implement evolving lesson plans and curricula.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• At least one year of teaching experience in English and/or experience working in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., a GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Suite.

• Stable internet connection and a quiet workspace free from distractions.

• Willingness to work during designated hours of operation.

• Experience teaching at the college or community college level is preferred.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans incorporating practical, real-world examples.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
