English Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills to ensure long-term comprehension and achieve high ACT/SAT scores.

• Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.

• Provide personalized growth and improvement opportunities for students.

• Keep student lesson schedules current and organized.

• Ensure students are accountable for their assignments.

• Exhibit professionalism and excellent organizational skills through timely communication with students.

• Design and creatively implement dynamic lesson plans and curriculum.

• Guide middle and high school students through the college application journey.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• A Master's degree or higher is preferred.

• At least 1 year of teaching experience in English and/or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and command of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.

• Access to a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace with minimal distractions.

• Willingness to work during designated operational hours.

• Teaching experience at the college or community college level is a plus.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Capability to develop customized, engaging lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world examples.

• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
