English Instructor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Teach small groups of students essential English skills to ensure long-lasting comprehension and high ACT/SAT scores.

• Monitor student progress using Vanguard’s comprehensive multi-phase curriculum.

• Provide students with personalized growth and improvement opportunities.

• Organize and update student lesson schedules effectively.

• Hold students responsible for completing assignments.

• Demonstrate professionalism and strong organizational abilities through timely communication with students.

• Design and creatively implement dynamic lesson plans and curriculum.

• Assist middle and high school students with the college application process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities discipline from accredited US institutions (such as English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.).

• A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in English or experience in a college-level Writing Center.

• Proven academic excellence (e.g., a GPA of 3.5 or higher).

• Excellent verbal communication skills and mastery of the English language.

• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.

• A reliable internet connection is necessary.

• A workspace that minimizes noise and distractions.

• Commitment to work during designated operational hours.

• Preference for candidates with experience teaching at the college or community college level.

• Strong understanding of classroom pedagogy.

• Ability to craft engaging, customized lesson plans utilizing practical, real-world examples.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
