Engineering Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Spearhead a prominent initiative aimed at enhancing member-facing platforms that facilitate access to healthcare services.

• Guide and mentor a team of engineers.

• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, and various business stakeholders.

• Stabilize and modernize platforms based on Node/React technologies.

• Enhance delivery predictability and overall system reliability.

• Supervise solution design and ensure code quality.

• Mentor engineers on AI-assisted development methodologies.

• Manage the daily operations of the team, focusing on system maintenance and development.

• Assign, monitor, and evaluate work progress and accuracy.

• Provide oversight for staff management, including hiring, promotions, performance evaluations, assessments, and professional growth.

• Direct, inspire, and develop team members.

• Ensure compliance with policies, plans, objectives, budgets, and staffing allocations.

• Monitor team-level project details and act as a technical subject matter expert.

• Offer leadership during transitional periods.

• Engage in a weekly on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science-related discipline or equivalent professional experience.

• 5 years of experience in information technology concepts, application development, and/or enterprise system maintenance methodologies, terminology, and standards.

• 5 years of experience in systems maintenance and/or programming.

• 3 years of advanced working knowledge of at least one programming language and/or one enterprise system utilized at BCBST.

• Familiarity with information technology concepts, methodologies, terminology, and standards.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and/or maintain an enterprise IT system.

• Subject matter expertise in one or more enterprise IT systems.

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email communication.

• Capability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

• Willingness to adjust work schedule for maintenance and upgrades outside of standard business hours.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
