Engineering Systems Engineer – Azure DevOps Administration, Governance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the administration, governance, and continuous enhancement of Azure DevOps within the Engineering organization.

• Manage the structure of Azure DevOps projects and organizations, including boards, work item processes, access models, and integrations with GitHub-hosted repositories.

• Act as the internal escalation point for diagnosing and resolving Azure DevOps platform issues.

• Identify configuration discrepancies and fragmented workflows, address governance gaps, and automate administrative tasks.

• Provide support for the broader Engineering Systems platform portfolio, which includes LaunchDarkly, Flyway, Cursor, Claude Code, and additional tools.

• Leverage AI to enhance platform analysis, generate automation scripts, create enablement documentation, and provide platform insights.

• Develop and sustain Azure DevOps configuration guides, workflow standards, governance how-tos, and onboarding materials.

• Keep platform configuration documentation, standards repositories, governance requirements, workflow patterns, and access policies up to date.

• Coordinate onboarding standards for new engineers, including environment setup guides, tooling provisioning checklists, and orientation materials.

• Monitor platform health, adoption metrics, support trends, and compliance with standards.

• Maintain operational data for the Engineering Systems Manager and Director of Engineering Systems.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analysis, or a related field.

• Eligibility to work legally in the Dominican Republic.

• Strong English reading comprehension and written communication abilities.

• 2–4 years of practical experience in Azure DevOps administration, including project configuration, access control governance, and multi-team organizational structures.

• In-depth hands-on experience with Azure DevOps administration, including project/org configuration, access control and permission models, and board/area path structure.

• Proficient scripting and automation skills, particularly in PowerShell and/or REST APIs.

• Familiarity with Git branching strategies and the integration of Azure DevOps with GitHub-hosted repositories.

• Capability to diagnose underlying causes of workflow requests and suggest improved solutions.

• Experience in managing access controls and user provisioning across engineering platforms.

• Understanding of least-privilege principles and compliance evidence requirements.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Clear written communication skills.

• Preferred exposure to or willingness to learn about LaunchDarkly, Flyway, Cursor, Claude Code, or other Engineering Systems platforms.

• Preferred experience with AI development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.

• An Associate's degree or equivalent is preferred.
