Engineering Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports that offer real-time insights into engineering performance, quality, delivery, and operational health.

• Analyze intricate datasets to uncover trends, risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.

• Convert ambiguous issues into structured analyses and provide clear recommendations for leadership.

• Ensure the engineering metrics are accurate, consistent, and relevant.

• Identify emerging problems, risks, and dependencies across various engineering initiatives.

• Monitor action items, escalation paths, and follow-ups until they are resolved.

• Create systematic approaches for problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

• Assist engineering leaders with the planning, prioritization, and execution of critical initiatives.

• Collaborate across engineering, product, quality, and operations teams.

• Establish efficient processes, documentation, and operating mechanisms that enhance execution.

• Deliver concise, data-driven insights to engineering leadership.

• Prepare executive-level summaries, presentations, and reports.

• Connect teams to ensure alignment and clarity regarding priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong analytical abilities with experience in handling complex datasets.

• Proven track record of developing and managing dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar tools.

• Experience in project or program management in a technical or engineering setting.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities and proactively address issues.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in supporting engineering or R&D organizations.

• Familiarity with engineering metrics, including delivery, quality, capacity, and efficiency.

• Experience in cross-functional or matrixed organizations.

• Background in continuous improvement, operations, or process optimization.

• Successful completion of a drug test may be required.
