Engineering Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the roadmap and architecture for Jira, Confluence, Jellyfish, and future engineering tools.

• Automate the configuration and administration of tools through self-service workflows.

• Develop and sustain integrations between engineering systems utilizing REST APIs, webhooks, and scripting.

• Oversee and assess AI-supported SDLC activities, which include prompt and specification writing, output evaluation, and the development of connectors or tools.

• Act as the technical lead and review authority for the Jr Developer, Engineering Operations position.

• Transform Jira and Jellyfish data into dependable metrics and reports suitable for executives.

• Maintain the mapping from roadmap to delivery, encompassing Initiatives, Features, confidence ratings, and SME validation.

• Assist program and release management with tools, data, and procedural guidance throughout the SDLC.

• Establish and uphold consistent tool usage patterns across engineering, product, and TPgM teams.

• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to enhance daily workflows and engineering productivity.

• Provide technical guidance, code and configuration reviews, and skill development for junior team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 4 years of experience in engineering operations, tooling, integrations, or process management.

• Proficient in Python and REST API integration patterns such as authentication flows, pagination, rate limits, and retry logic.

• Familiarity with Git and PR-based workflows.

• Practical experience utilizing an LLM as a working instrument, including understanding its limitations.

• Exceptional written communication skills, covering both executive narratives and technical documentation (specifications, prompts, evaluation criteria).

• Proven ability to mentor or offer technical guidance to less experienced team members.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

• Self-motivated and comfortable working without a defined right answer.

• Preferred: Experience managing Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).

• Preferred: SQL knowledge for data analysis: joins, aggregation, filtering.

• Preferred: Experience with MCP or connector development, agentic patterns, and tool or skill design.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Jellyfish or similar engineering intelligence platforms.

• Preferred: Experience with Agile methodologies and software development life cycle processes.

• Preferred: Knowledge of secrets and credential hygiene across systems.
