This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden, +4 more countries.
• Lead a group of engineers, taking charge of delivery and team growth.
• Foster continuous improvement through rapid iterations.
• Assist team members' professional well-being and career advancement via 1:1 meetings, growth plans, performance assessments, and constructive feedback.
• Cultivate future tech leads, engineering managers, and staff-level individual contributors.
• Write and review code while contributing to technical decisions.
• Steer architectural and technical design choices alongside senior individual contributors.
• Maintain engineering standards through pull-request evaluations and a robust release process.
• Lead an AI-enhanced engineering team while preserving quality standards.
• Manage team commitments, timelines, and uphold quality expectations.
• Conduct planning, prioritization, and delivery cycles.
• Collaborate with the Technical Product Owner and Product team on scope, sequencing, trade-offs, and roadmap.
• Align engineering tasks with broader business goals.
• Adjust plans, priorities, and staffing in response to business shifts.
• Oversee team hiring, interviewing, recruiting, and coaching efforts.
• Make challenging personnel decisions when necessary.
• Mentor fellow engineering managers and share best practices.
• Communicate effectively with leadership and prioritize escalations.
• Empower senior engineers and provide coaching for team members.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, GTM, Customer Success, and various other teams.
• Over 10 years of engineering experience, including more than 4 years in engineering management roles where coding was part of your responsibilities.
• Practical experience in developing cloud-based SaaS products and managing services in production for Azure; ideally, additional experience with AWS/GCP.
• Experience overseeing availability, costs, and the customer-facing aspects of production services.
• Strong background in leading teams within the FinOps domain.
• API-first mindset; products must be functional and accessible via APIs.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, including full-stack and data engineers.
• Proven track record of visibly transforming engineering teams with measurable enhancements in delivery speed, technical quality, or team expertise.
• Deep technical knowledge of the team's primary technology stack, with senior-level proficiency in reading, writing, and reviewing code.
• Strong principles regarding hiring, coaching, performance management, and technical decision-making.
• Excellent judgment under pressure and ability to clearly communicate decisions.
• Direct and candid communication skills.
• Proficient knowledge or experience in Golang.
• Established AI-augmented workflows and insights on utilizing AI tools and agentic workflows.
• Hands-on experience with multiple cloud providers.
• Experience in scaling teams, processes, or technical systems as the organization grows.
