Engineering Manager – Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Lead a small, high-impact team of product engineers

• Assist the team in rapidly and thoughtfully transforming customer requirements into delivered value

• Supervise spend-management features, encompassing forecasting, detection of unusual usage, and allocation strategies

• Oversee versatile, reusable interface components that facilitate intuitive exploration of spending

• Manage visualization tools that reveal usage trends and query performance

• Direct data pipelines and transformation models that convert raw usage data into actionable insights

• Ensure the application remains reliable and performs well

• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to direct engineering efforts toward customer impact

• Mentor, develop, and grow the engineering team

• Define priorities, ensure alignment, and eliminate obstacles

• Balance speed and quality while making informed tradeoffs under time constraints

• Enable features from concept to launch

• Engage in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members

• Set standards for design, testing, documentation, and decision-making processes

• Work collaboratively across product, design, and leadership teams

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing, mentoring, developing, and expanding an engineering team

• Capability to clarify priorities, ensure alignment, remove obstacles, and maintain project delivery

• Adept at balancing velocity with quality and making prudent tradeoffs under pressure

• Proficiency in guiding engineers from initial concept to feature launch

• Experience in recruiting and onboarding new hires

• Skill in establishing and upholding standards for design, testing, documentation, and decision-making

• Ability to collaborate effectively across product, design, and leadership

• Familiarity with technology environments is advantageous but not essential: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind, Python, FastAPI, Postgres, Snowflake, Terraform, GCP, dbt, Dagster

• Bonus: experience in leading engineers in early-stage startups

• Bonus: knowledge of FinOps, cloud infrastructure, cost optimization, or work on data platforms

• Bonus: practical experience with a similar technology stack
