
Engineering Manager – Mobile Development Productivity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the Mobile Development Productivity engineering team and establish the technical vision for Stripe’s mobile development platform.
• Collaborate with engineers and leaders across mobile product and infrastructure teams to recognize common development challenges, prioritize initiatives, and convert long-term technical aspirations into actionable plans.
• Develop and nurture a team responsible for creating development environments, continuous integration systems, testing infrastructure, and secure build and release workflows.
• Direct efforts that allow AI agents to effectively engage in mobile development through realistic environments, tools, and validation feedback.
• Recruit, coach, mentor, and foster development opportunities for engineers.
• Establish technical strategy, objectives, and roadmap, translating organizational goals and internal user requirements into implementation plans.
• Collaborate with mobile product teams, infrastructure teams, and technical leaders to create reusable solutions.
• Work alongside staff engineers on architectural and strategic technical decisions.
• Set standards for reliability, security, engineering excellence, and operational rigor.
• Leverage developer productivity, build and test performance, and release health metrics to inform investment decisions.
• Coordinate with geographically distributed colleagues to ensure alignment, visibility, and clear ownership.
• 8+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in engineering management roles.
• Proven experience leading teams that develop platforms, frameworks, infrastructure, or tools utilized by other engineers.
• Demonstrated capability to define technical strategy, guide architectural decisions, and convert ambiguous objectives into a clear roadmap and execution strategy.
• Established success in hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers while cultivating an inclusive, challenging, and supportive work environment.
• Ability to align and influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority, effectively communicate with diverse audiences, and facilitate complex decisions and trade-offs.
