Engineering Manager, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering performance and career growth.

• Spearhead greenfield projects and large-scale initiatives from initial concept to production.

• Assume responsibility for new topics initiated from the ground up while navigating through uncertainty.

• Ensure timely and high-quality delivery by means of effective planning and execution.

• Provide technical guidance in architectural and engineering best practices.

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and stakeholders to align priorities and achieve desired outcomes.

• Support the team through leadership and organizational transformations.

• Continuously enhance and standardize development processes.

• Clearly communicate progress, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in software development.

• At least 2 years of experience in leadership roles.

• A minimum of 2 years in project or delivery management.

• Strong technical expertise in Java.

• Experience in a containerized cloud-native environment (GCP/AWS).

• Proficient in English (B2+) in both verbal and written communication.

• Familiarity with system design and modern engineering methodologies.

• Demonstrated ability to lead change and build teams in dynamic environments.

• Possess a product-oriented mindset with end-to-end ownership.

• Excellent communication and organizational capabilities.

• Proficient in utilizing AI tools and large language models such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude.

• Capacity to critically assess AI-generated outputs and apply them responsibly in professional settings.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Cloud certifications are advantageous.

• Scrum Master or Product Owner certification is a plus.

• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD is beneficial.

• Exposure to security, compliance, or enterprise environments is a plus.
