Engineering Manager – Grafana Application Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee the application security team specializing in application security, cloud security, and the development of internal tools.

• Manage vulnerability assessments for both first- and third-party applications, which includes coordinated disclosures and managing embargoed fixes.

• Collaborate with security leadership, individual contributors, and business stakeholders to define and execute the engineering strategy.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, providing coaching, mentoring, and ongoing feedback.

• Work closely with engineering leaders and stakeholders on product strategies, roadmaps, and design initiatives.

• Participate in significant incidents, encompassing preparation, simulation, response, as well as customer notifications and communications.

• Contribute to and review design documentation for upcoming projects.

• Ensure that projects are clearly defined and ready for the development phase.

• Provide guidance on breaking down projects into manageable tasks.

• Previous experience leading a security engineering team.

• Strong engineering foundation with the ability to engage in technical discussions.

• Capability to collaborate with autonomous engineering teams.

• Up-to-date knowledge of technical trends and challenges faced by teams.

• A DevOps security mindset focusing on enablement, automation, and establishing guardrails.

• Familiarity with securing and operating within public cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.

• Experience with Kubernetes.

• Understanding of securing a combination of open-source software (OSS) and SaaS products.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Skill in conveying complex cybersecurity concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Proficiency in translating security issues into business implications.
