This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland, +2 more countries.
• Oversee the application security team, focusing on application security, cloud security, and the development of internal tools.
• Manage vulnerability assessments for both first- and third-party applications, including coordinated disclosures and controlled fixes.
• Develop, refine, and execute an engineering strategy in collaboration with security leadership, team members, and business stakeholders.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, providing coaching and mentoring to team members.
• Offer ongoing feedback and uphold high standards within the team.
• Work in partnership with engineering leaders and stakeholders to shape product strategies, roadmaps, and design approaches.
• Participate in critical incident management through preparation, simulation, response, and communication with customers.
• Contribute to and evaluate design documents for upcoming initiatives.
• Ensure that projects are thoroughly defined and prepared for development.
• Provide guidance on breaking down projects into manageable tasks.
• Previous experience leading a security engineering team.
• Strong engineering background with the ability to engage in technical discussions.
• Capability to encourage teams to make robust technical decisions.
• Comfortable working with independent engineering teams.
• Current knowledge of technical trends and industry shifts.
• DevOps mindset centered on empowerment, automation, and established guidelines.
• Familiarity with securing and operating within major public cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Understanding of Kubernetes.
• Experience with securing a combination of open-source software (OSS) and SaaS products.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate intricate cybersecurity concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Skill in translating security challenges into business implications.
