Engineering Manager – Dedicated Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead the Dedicated Platform Integration team tasked with integrating third-party and modular features within the GitLab ecosystem for the Dedicated platform hosted SaaS.

• Collaborate with the team’s Product Manager to enable effective execution with quality and speed.

• Ensure the Dedicated infrastructure maintains a 3+ 9s availability, focusing on security, automation, scalability, and tenant capacity.

• Provide guidance and constructive feedback while fostering DevOps ownership and automating unnecessary tasks.

• Continuously enhance owned artifacts to promote self-service production ownership for feature implementers.

• Recruit, onboard, and cultivate a team of exceptional and productive members.

• Demonstrate proof of concepts, maintain an agentic mindset, simplify processes, and eliminate human toil.

• Exemplify incident management best practices, lead rapid resolutions and escalations, and train team members while codifying best practices across GitLab.

• Utilize data-driven prioritization, impact quantification, risk and technical-debt management, and AI to illustrate concepts and support stakeholder decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• A proven history of building and owning large-scale distributed services, demonstrating technical depth in architecture and strategic planning.

• Experience in driving operational excellence and owning services that operate at four-nines (99.99%) SLOs.

• Proficiency in leveraging AI tools to enhance team productivity, including insights gained from both successes and challenges.

• A background in developing and managing high-performing, accountable team cultures, with the ability to manage out when necessary.

• Comfort in driving complex projects to completion without the aid of a dedicated TPM.

• Experience effectively leading distributed and remote teams.
