
Engineering Manager, Data Labeling Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead, expand, and enhance NVIDIA’s primary Data Labeling Platform
• Manage a team of software engineers, data specialists, and AI application developers
• Design and create a next-generation platform for data annotation
• Uphold a high technical standard and steer robust software architecture
• Ensure clean data engineering practices while actively engaging in Python programming to resolve architectural challenges
• Build, mentor, and guide a high-performing engineering team
• Align engineering roadmaps with senior VPs, research leaders, and Data Factory operations
• Architect and spearhead auto-labeling applications utilizing multimodal models-in-the-loop
• Oversee event logging, ETL processes into NVIDIA’s data lake, metrics, dashboards, and alert systems focused on reliability and latency goals
• Direct front-end engineering efforts for custom annotation interfaces across various modalities including text, video, audio, speech, and documents
• Optimize the platform for scalability, data integrity, and throughput
• Support annotation initiatives within NVIDIA’s internal data operations and with external annotation partners
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years as a technical lead or engineering manager
• Strong foundation as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, or AI Application Engineer
• Excellent skills in system design
• Extensive hands-on knowledge of Python
• Architectural-level comprehension of data pipelines and distributed systems
• Experience in integrating machine learning models into production workflows, particularly in auto-labeling or human-in-the-loop frameworks
• Proven track record in leading technical projects, mentoring engineers, or formally managing a team
• Outstanding stakeholder management and communication abilities
• Capability to convert technical limitations into strategic updates for VPs and translate business objectives into operational directives
• Experience with human-in-the-loop data programs, such as RLHF, preference data, red teaming, or multimodal datasets
• Familiarity with applying models to lessen or assist human effort in labeling workflows
• Working knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript
• Experience delivering applications where interaction design impacts user throughput and error rates
• Background in multimodal data, encompassing video, 3D and point cloud, speech, or document understanding
