This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee the management of incoming documentation via the fax queue, ensuring efficient and accurate processing, data entry, and routing of information that supports patient scheduling, billing, and clinical workflows.
• Assess and categorize received faxed documents, which include clinical notes, diagnostic reports, insurance authorizations/denials, laboratory/pathology results, demographic sheets, medical records requests, radiology orders, and legal/workers' compensation/attorney documents.
• Upload documents into patient charts, direct them to the relevant departments, or initiate follow-up workflows as necessary.
• Find and verify patient records while resolving issues related to duplicate accounts/records.
• Input and confirm demographic details, insurance, and billing information across different payer categories.
• Process and validate orders/referrals to ensure all information is complete and accurate.
• Verify details of referring providers, submit requests for updates, and ensure adherence to credentialing standards and payer regulations.
• Initiate follow-up communications with referring physicians and/or patients.
• Assist in cross-departmental administrative projects and departmental initiatives.
• Engage in training sessions, audits, and activities aimed at process enhancement.
• Provide backup support for relevant administrative workflows during peak periods or in the absence of team members.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service and/or data entry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
• Competent in utilizing computer systems and typing efficiently.
• Capable of effectively operating a multi-level phone system, handling a high volume of calls simultaneously.
• Background in medical terminology is preferred.
• Preferred experience includes two (2) years in customer service and data entry.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver's License with 4 points or less.
• Must have reliable transportation and auto insurance.
