This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Provide strategic guidance to one or more departments.
• Establish operational policies and procedures impacting departments and subordinate work units.
• Develop budgets, timelines, departmental objectives, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders as well as senior-level business partners.
• Lead briefings and technical meetings to support IT objectives.
• Review technical solution designs and architectures, offering guidance where necessary.
• Take part in discussions regarding system design and architecture.
• Evaluate technical solutions and support their implementation.
• Ensure that code reviews are conducted and advocate for software development best practices.
• Anticipate technological trends and assess the implications of emerging technologies.
• Support agile methodologies, learning events, and training sessions.
• Assist in eliminating team obstacles and engage in sprint demonstrations.
• Collaborate with Product Managers on initiatives, features, and epics.
• Work together on product-group strategies, operational plans, targets, and metrics.
• Cultivate a psychologically safe and collaborative team environment.
• Facilitate solutions across products and teams, ensuring a consistent approach.
• Align the team with the priorities of the company and the technology organization.
• Participate in the vision, strategies, roadmaps, objectives, and alignments of product and platform technology.
• Represent the business value of technology upgrades and influence the prioritization of the roadmap.
• Guide the selection of technology and platforms.
• Promote engineering practices, observability, monitoring, alerting, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to enterprise frameworks and design patterns.
• Define and support processes throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Assist in resolving production incidents and act as an escalation point.
• Manage technology solutions, platforms, and relationships with vendors.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and team sessions.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and career development for engineers.
• Lead the selection of consulting partners and support recruitment planning.
• Recruit, develop, and maintain a high-performing team.
• Oversee both direct and indirect staff.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 8 years of progressively responsible positions in Information Technology, including at least 5 years in a specific IT discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in all aspects of a particular IT discipline.
• At least 3 years of management/supervisory experience in a specific IT functional area, or equivalent skills in leading significant technical projects with accountability for talent management and performance standards.
• Proven leadership capabilities and experience managing multidisciplinary, high-performance teams.
• Strong skills in project management and execution of multiple or large-scale projects.
• Experience collaborating with customers to create solutions for complex business challenges.
• Established ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support business initiatives.
• Ability to operate in an environment that requires adaptability, sound judgment, and informed decision-making.
• Capability to design, implement, and assess plans, programs, and procedures related to customer relationship and demand management.
• Preferred: MBA.
• Preferred: Experience in the Financial Services industry.
• Preferred: Background in IT planning and business relationship management.
• Preferred: Experience in a matrix management organization.
• Preferred: Experience with product development and management.
