Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead one or more client or internal project teams from the initial scoping phase through delivery and shipping.

• Establish the technical direction and oversee complete project delivery.

• Mentor, provide feedback to, and develop engineers.

• Design solutions and make technical decisions across the project stack.

• Review code and engage hands-on within the codebase.

• Recruit and interview prospective team members.

• Collaborate with product teams, designers, founders, clients, and stakeholders to transform ideas into production-ready products.

• Convert ambiguous requests into structured, actionable plans.

• Manage and support multiple projects at the same time.

• Contribute to shaping Sierra Studio’s engineering culture and development methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading project teams and managing end-to-end delivery.

• Demonstrated track record of mentoring and developing engineers.

• Excellent communication skills for team alignment, stakeholder engagement, and effective feedback.

• Experience in transforming vague requests into phased execution strategies.

• Proficient in written and verbal English communication.

• Senior-level engineering experience with hands-on capabilities.

• Strong skills in architecture and technical decision-making across a project's stack.

• Capability to manage and support multiple projects concurrently.

• Familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic patterns.

• Backend experience with either Python (e.g. FastAPI) or TypeScript.

• Quick learner of new skills in the AI domain.

• Experience utilizing AI tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.

• Bonus: Experience in developing products using LLMs.
