This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Build and lead a new Data team.

• Recruit the remaining team members and define the team's identity, rituals, and standards.

• Take ownership of the Data Charter and Roadmap.

• Manage leads and accounts data models, ETL pipelines, Data 360, Salesforce synchronization, analytics and insights, data integrations, and Data APIs.

• Develop a cohesive platform strategy and coordinate investments with engineering and product leadership.

• Provide guidance on technical decisions related to data modeling, ingestion, synchronization, and data serving.

• Ensure the data layer is accurate, up-to-date, observable, reliable, and easy for other teams to utilize.

• Establish SLOs, data contracts, and operational discipline to ensure data quality and reliability.

• Collaborate with leadership, product teams, and Salesforce counterparts to align priorities and drive execution.

• Integrate data into strategic decision-making processes to achieve business results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing engineering teams focused on building data platforms, pipelines, or high-scale backend systems, preferably in high-growth settings.

• Strong instincts for hiring, including sourcing, closing, and onboarding top engineers.

• In-depth technical knowledge in several areas: PostgreSQL at scale, ClickHouse or similar OLAP systems, CDC and event streaming, ETL orchestration, or data modeling for CRM-oriented domains.

• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations.

• Proactive, results-driven "driver" mindset.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Capability to engage with stakeholders who are not focused on data full-time.
