This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop features that assist customers in adhering to emerging regulatory requirements.
• Enhance patient compliance and facilitate successful collection of patient-reported data.
• Create benchmarking tools that allow customers to assess strengths and weaknesses in patient care.
• Enable the collection of patient data through customizable care pathways, HL7, and FHIR.
• Contribute to a multi-tier data architecture that cross-references patient outcomes with comorbidities, medical devices, and other relevant health factors.
• Lead and mentor a team of 4–6 engineers while promoting their professional growth.
• Actively participate in coding and provide technical support in a player-coach role.
• Oversee agile practices, including planning, ticket management, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Plan, direct, and assist in the implementation of production features and projects in collaboration with Product Managers and designers.
• Work with internal stakeholders to support enterprise customers' utilization of production software.
• Advocate for software performance, scalability, reliability, and observability.
• Balance new development efforts with the management of technical debt and architectural enhancements.
• Lead the integration and utilization of AI tools throughout software development processes.
• Operate in 2-week sprints, 6-month company planning cycles, and facilitate weekly deployments.
• Over 8 years of professional software development experience.
• More than 3 years of experience with Ruby on Rails.
• At least 1 year of experience in managing engineers.
• Proficient in utilizing AI throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Background in the healthcare software sector.
• Ability to thrive in a startup environment where clarity must be created from uncertainty.
• Preferred: Familiarity with React, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
• Preferred: Experience with EHRs, HL7, FHIR, and/or SmartOnFHIR integration.
• Preferred: Knowledge of medical coding standards such as CPT, ICD-10, and SNOMED.
• Preferred: Experience working on large-scale data-driven products or features, involving data aggregation, cleaning, transformation, and attribution.
