This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore, +5 more countries.
• Conduct Performance Reviews and one-on-one meetings for your team members.
• Gather feedback and convert it into constructive insights for your team.
• Manage, coach, and mentor your team, fostering their growth and career advancement.
• Act as a representative of your engineering team in high-level discussions regarding team structure, wellbeing, and professional growth.
• Lead a cross-functional squad by establishing clear objectives and promoting a culture of accountability.
• Organize and facilitate ceremonies like retrospectives and squad check-ins.
• Collaborate with other engineering managers and discipline leaders to maintain consistency in practices and align squad objectives.
• Proactively identify gaps in engineering knowledge and guide necessary training initiatives.
• Stay informed about current engineering best practices in WordPress, while monitoring emerging trends and technologies beneficial for developers' daily tasks.
• Balance technical oversight, personnel management, and strategic leadership of the team.
• Support the wellbeing and continuous professional development of engineers.
• Act as the primary contact for any team-related challenges.
• Work with delivery and commercial teams to ensure smooth squad operations.
• Identify issues and either resolve them or escalate to the appropriate discipline leads.
• Actively participate in delivering client projects, ensuring engineers operate effectively at scale.
• Experience and a comprehensive understanding of technologies utilized by Human Made, such as WordPress, React, APIs, and software architecture.
• Demonstrated experience in leading a team of engineers, preferably in an agency setting.
• Exceptional communication, team-building, and organizational abilities.
• Skilled in identifying individual areas for improvement.
• Proficient in evaluating feedback and translating it into actionable development plans for team members.
• Confident in addressing interpersonal challenges.
• Experienced in a remote work environment.
• Possess a growth mindset with a passion for aiding engineers in their professional journeys.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English, at CEFR C1 level or equivalent.
