This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead a small group of engineers focused on impactful systems.
• Convert product vision into clear daily objectives for the team.
• Eliminate obstacles, foster concentration, and maintain visible and sustainable progress.
• Collaborate with Product and Security leaders to define project scope and balance trade-offs.
• Guide, mentor, and facilitate the development of 3–6 engineers.
• Establish psychological safety, exemplify composure under stress, and uphold accountability without casting blame.
• Conduct productive one-on-one meetings, feedback sessions, and tailored career development plans.
• Encourage teamwork, curiosity, and ongoing improvement.
• Align sprint tasks with objectives, clarify project scope, and drive execution.
• Refine priorities and delivery strategies in collaboration with Product and Security partners.
• Continuously enhance planning, retrospectives, standups, quality assurance, and on-call procedures.
• Utilize delivery and system health metrics to inform improvements.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the team’s systems and domains.
• Assist in technical design and decision-making without becoming a bottleneck.
• Collaborate with technical leads to ensure sustainable architectural development.
• Report to the Head of Engineering and work alongside Product, Security, and engineering leaders to cultivate a high-performing, resilient development culture.
• 1–3+ years of managerial experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized startup or scale-up environment dealing with high-scale systems.
• Solid technical expertise (IC → EM path) and insight into when to engage versus when to step back.
• Calm and thoughtful communication skills, particularly in uncertain or high-pressure contexts.
• Proven experience mentoring engineers and shaping team dynamics.
• Capability to navigate complex technical and human systems through structure, empathy, frequent communication, and iteration.
• Experience in cybersecurity, adtech, or distributed high-scale systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with operating in a remote-first setting is an advantage.
• Background in managing transitions post-founder leadership or scaling an engineering organization is a plus.
