Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +26 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand your teams effectively.

• Oversee engineers across two teams through consistent one-on-one meetings, coaching, feedback, and proactive career development.

• Take charge of hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee retention.

• Foster a culture that encourages engineers to excel in their work and feel supported in their growth.

• Collaborate with Product and Design to convert the roadmap into clear, actionable plans.

• Manage planning, capacity, estimation, and prioritization within your teams.

• Ensure releases are small, frequent, and thoroughly tested, along with tight feedback loops and minimal process overhead.

• Eliminate obstacles, manage inter-team dependencies, and highlight risks and trade-offs early.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership on the technical roadmap and alignment between teams.

• Provide technical direction and assist your teams in making sound architectural and design choices.

• Maintain high standards for engineering quality, operational health, and craftsmanship.

• Advocate for modern and effective engineering practices, including AI-assisted development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in software engineering, with approximately 2+ years of direct management of engineers.

• Proven track record of leading successful product engineering deliveries.

• A strong technical background - having started as an engineer, you can engage credibly in discussions about architecture, design, and code.

• Experience working within an iterative, agile delivery model, collaborating closely with Product and Design teams.

• Knowledge of best practices in React, Python, and AWS.

• Bonus points for:

• Experience in B2B SaaS, operational software, or the vacation rental/hospitality sector.

• Experience in establishing or enhancing engineering processes in a rapidly growing organization.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and strategies for effective adoption.
