This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine, +5 more countries.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of MLE and MLOps engineers engaged in various AI/ML projects.
• Oversee resource distribution and capacity planning for multiple AI/ML initiatives and operational tasks.
• Work alongside project and technical leaders to develop realistic delivery schedules, key milestones, and staffing frameworks.
• Ensure transparency regarding project advancements, dependencies, risks, and resource limitations.
• Assist in overcoming delivery obstacles, prioritizing conflicts, and managing inter-team dependencies.
• Facilitate both quarterly and ongoing planning sessions among MLE and MLOps teams.
• Provide updates on delivery and staffing to functional managers and stakeholders.
• Support and mentor engineers through regular one-on-one meetings and career discussions.
• Collect and consolidate feedback from project leads, technical leads, and cross-functional collaborators.
• Develop growth plans and assist in performance, promotion, and compensation review processes.
• Identify team capability gaps and engage in hiring, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning efforts.
• Cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
• Implement Agile, Lean, and Fast-Flow methodologies to enhance team productivity and delivery predictability.
• Comprehend AI/ML tasks, communicate effectively with engineers, and pinpoint technical delivery risks; this position does not involve hands-on engineering or architecture responsibilities.
• Minimum of three years of experience in software engineering, AI/ML, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of experience in people management, engineering management, or technical program leadership.
• Proficient understanding of AI/ML modeling, systems, and the development lifecycle.
• Experience managing multiple technical projects with shared resources and inter-team dependencies.
• Strong abilities in capacity planning, resource management, project execution, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication.
• Proven experience in supporting the performance and career growth of technical staff.
• Capability to comprehend technical discussions and collaborate effectively with MLE and MLOps teams.
• Background working with distributed or geographically dispersed teams.
• Proficient in English at an upper-intermediate level or above.
• Fluent in Ukrainian.
