This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Modernize a critical legacy system that oversees billions of dollars in international security cooperation.

• Transition the outdated fat-client application to a contemporary web platform through rapid iterations and an Agentic AI Software Development Lifecycle.

• Break down challenges into clear specifications for agent implementation and manage the integrated code.

• Conduct thorough code reviews, engage in test-driven development, perform human reviews on every merge, and implement continuous integration scanning.

• Deploy small, easily reviewable changes while ensuring the main branch and beta environment remain consistently operational.

• Create complete vertical slices encompassing UI, API, database, infrastructure, and pipeline.

• Manage TypeScript/Node domain services that operate behind REST APIs, including case lifecycle state machines, document generation, pricing, payment-schedule calculations, workflow, and milestone logic.

• Extract legacy business rules from Java, PL/SQL packages, and database triggers into a knowledge base backed by evidence, and reimplement them with parity tests and golden-master harnesses.

• Establish append-only audit trails, enforce segregation of duties, ensure reproducibility of calculations, and implement interface controls.

• Reconstruct file-based and API integrations with partner systems using a contract-first design and emulators.

• Set up infrastructure, troubleshoot pipelines, analyze security controls, and collaborate through documentation, demonstrations, pairing, and enhancements to harnesses.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a US citizen and eligible for a US SECRET clearance.

• Over 7 years of experience in building and operating production web systems.

• Proven track record in developing production web systems, with significant expertise in server-side and domain-model work.

• Hands-on experience with agentic AI development tools (Codex and/or Claude Code, or equivalent) on actual codebases.

• Proficient in cloud infrastructure, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and security fundamentals.

• Ability to interpret PL/SQL and legacy Java.

• Familiarity with financial calculation engines, audit or compliance-sensitive systems, or intricate state machines.

• Willing to travel no more than once per quarter.
